Shayneh Vista Vineyards’ Low
Valley Purple Label Merlot is a surprising interpretation
of the classic award winning Sonoma Valley Merlot's of
established commercial wineries. Everything one seeks in
a robust, red table wine, yet nothing one would expect
from a traditional Merlot, Shayneh Vista’s
interpretation of this classic leaves nothing to be desired.
This
2005 very late second harvest bespeaks the winemaker’s
truism that “second harvest is second to none”. Salvaged
with tender care from a Sonoma Valley private estate before
the rains laid claim to these high-bix/low tannin grapes,
Shayneh Vista’s winemakers transformed the ripe fruit
into an extraordinary harmony of ripe berry, plum, currant,
cherry and cocoa components yielding a soft, fruity and smooth-in-texture
classic noble wine. |
Shayneh Vista winemakers
aged this wine in a mixture of new and used French Oak
barrels for 18 months and then, after aging, the wine was
cautiously bottled and cased for this “Purple Label” Reserve
Merlot.
Serve this “Purple Label” Reserve
at slightly below room temperature.
Like Sonoma’s Town Square, the
site of the California rebellion and the first raising
of the California Bear Flag, Shayneh Vista Vineyards is
proud of this unique Private Estate wine. |
